First edition of this Turkish political utopia by Ziya Pasha, published posthumously, describing his dream. In his dream, he had a conversation with the sultan of the time, Abdülaziz, during which Ziya Pasha told the sultan that the country was mismanaged and the reasons for this mismanagement. He informs the sultan about the main aims of the society called the New Ottomans.

Ziya Pasha, the pseudonym of Abdul Hamid Ziyaeddin was an Ottoman writer, translator, and administrator. He was one of the most important authors during the Tanzimat period of the Ottoman Empire, along with Ibrahim Sinasi and Namik Kemal.
