[ARABIA / YEMEN / MAP] Set of Turkish 21 military plans of Yemen and around, of the XL. Ottoman Division in the First World War (between February 25 - June 4, 1918) against the British and Yemeni forces

Original 21 chromo-lithographic maps printed on thin papers with "Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Hükümeti" [i.e. the Government of the Turkish Republic] watermarks. Various sizes (described below). In Turkish (Latin letters). Folded. Slight chippings on extremities, foxing, and light stains on some weak folding traces. Overall a good set.

Exceedingly rare complete set of the first military plans drawn by Galib [or Galip] Deniz (1881-1953) including twenty-one separate sheets, showing the operations of the XL. Ottoman Division in the First World War (between February 25 - June 4, 1918) in Yemen, Asir, and Sana'a against the British and Yemeni forces. These plans were published as supplements to the "Tarih Kismi" [i.e. History Chapter] of the "Askerî Mecmua"s 98th issue [i.e. Military Journal] on September 1, 1935. Galib Deniz fought as the Chief of Staff of the 40th Division against the British in Yemen and Hodeidah in the last year of the First World War.

These historically significant complete set of Turkish military plans for the historical geography of the region show the locations and names of Arabian tribes of Yemen, Al Hudaydah, and Asir during WW1.
