The first edition of this rare and richly illustrated children’s book, narrating a fantastic
sci-fi adventure featuring two intelligent brothers, Zaza and Giga, depicted wearing
traditional Svan hats in vivid and colorful illustrations. Accompanied by their robotic
companion, Robert, designed by their uncle Samson, the story blends imagination
with cultural elements. This book is a fascinating example of Soviet-influenced Georgian children’s literature from the period.
Kekelidze’s first children’s story, “Stubborn Datunia,” was published in Dila mag
azine in 1962. The presented book, published by the same printing house, is the
writer’s third children’s book.
