Scarce first and only edition describing the activities of Gülhane Hospital between 15 July 1923 and 15 July 1924 (the first year of the new Republic), presented in 21 articles. Published as part of the Gülhâne Yearbooks series.

The yearbooks published from 1924 through the 1930s document all aspects of the hospital’s operations, including the history of the institution and its building, assistants, newly established departments, visitors, and notable patients.

Sağlam was a Turkish military physician and professor, known for his contributions to medical education and health reforms during the early years of the Republic of Turkey. He served as chief physician of the Health Division of the Selanik Redif Brigade during the Balkan Wars, as chief of health of the 2nd and 3rd Armies during World War I, and later as chief of internal medicine at the Gülhane Military Medical Academy.
