Medicina Islamica & Turcica II
Dear librarians, customers, and colleagues,
We are pleased to present the second part of our catalogue, continuing our open-ended series devoted to the Islamic History of Medicine in the Ottoman Empire and the Middle East. This constitutes a continuation of the material presented in the first catalogue, which was largely derived from the collection of a specialist medical historian.
In this catalogue, we offer a carefully curated selection of rare books, periodicals, and archival publications that deepen our understanding of medical thought, practice, and institutions in the late Ottoman and early Republican periods, as well as Arabic and foreign material. The catalogue features notable works on public health, epidemics and preventive medicine, medical education, forensic medicine, and the professionalization of healthcare, alongside significant periodical runs and lesser-known but historically valuable publications.
As in the previous volume, we aim to highlight milestones in Islamic medical literature and to present sources that illuminate the interaction between traditional knowledge and modern medical science.
We hope you enjoy exploring this second instalment of the series.
