Original b/w photo. 9x14 cm. Signed and dated by Mehmed Halit Bayri as '27 Mayis [1]341' [May 1925]. His early b/w photograph with his fez. Mehmed Halid, who started his writing and intellectual career with the encouragement of Fuad Köprülü and Yahya Kemal, worked as the editor-in-chief of the journal "Düsünce" [i.e. Thought] (1922), which was published during the Armistice years, and later "Anadolu Mecmuasi" [i.e. The Anatolian Journal] (1924-1925). He was found in the concept of folklore and folkloric studies in Turkey in the settlement of important services in a systematic and broadly spread.
