Original wrappers. Small 4to. (25,5 x 19 cm). In Ottoman script (Old Turkish with Arabic letters). [12] p. (pp. 29-35), 14 numbered chromolithographed maps. Chipped on extremities of thin and fragile papers, repaired spine by tape, slight stains on the covers. Interior and maps are clean. A good/very good copy.

First and only edition of this “America” part printed as the fifth book of the Series, of Ottoman geographical exercise books for the geography students of the “Dersaadet Idadi-i Mülk-i Sahânesi”. This rare exercise book in atlas form includes North America with mountain ranges, political borders, the United States, Central America and the Caribbean, and South America. Every map should have been marked with any names and juxtaposed maps with pale outlines of the borders of the lands and coasts.

Hüseyin Saadet was a geography teacher at the “Dersaadet Idadi-i Mülk-i Sahânesi”, which was the first non-military high school training in the Turkish language in the Ottoman Empire.
