CAPITAINE FAUVRE, (Ottoman Gendarmerie Inspector).

Mission d'Inspection de la Gendarmerie Ottomane, Dardanelles - 29 Mars / Ier Juin 1922.

Original typescript on carbon paper with autograph correction by ink. 31x20 cm. In French. 3 pp. Two reports by Captain Fauvre, Inspector of the Ottoman Gendarmerie, on the projects of the Greek authorities. Report numbered 42 starts as '[A newspaper arrives this morning announcing that the Greek government accepts the conditions of the armistice proposed by the allies and that the Greek troops would evacuate all Asia-Minor]'. Then it goes on as "[On this subject, travelers coming from Athens say that if the Greek government orders to evacuate Asia-Minor the Greek army will not obey. General Papoulas withdrew and the independent Greek army of Asia Minor would be placed under the command of General Yoannou. In a word, the Greek army would make under the command of General Yoannou, against its Government the same gesture as the Turkish army, under the Command of Moustapha Kemal, against the Government of Constantinople'. The second report is related to Koum-Bouroun, Ezine, Pounar-Bachi, Boz-Keuy etc.
