HASAN (Posta, telgraf ve telefon müdüriyet-i umûmîyesi telgraf emvâri müdürü [i.e. Telegraph director]), Karabet Matbaasi., Istanbul, [AH 1341] = 1925.

Original wrappers. Roy. 8vo. (24 x 17 cm). In Ottoman script (Old Turkish with Arabic letters). 58, [2] p., b/w ills. Slightly wear on spine, and stains on cover. Overall a very good copy.

First and only edition of this scarce telegraph manual for the Turkish telegraph officers including morse code with other telegraph codes in German, French and Turkish with Arabic alphabet as well as the description and history of the telegraph, written by
the PTT telegraph manager Hasan Bey two years after the proclamation of the Republic in 1923. This is the first compact Turkish book on the telegraph codes printed after the Republic, under the directorate of Mehmed Fahri Sundur (1923-1934) in the Turkish Post and Telegraph Office.

The book, which started with the invention, history, and importance of the telegraph, aimed to teach the telegraph codes to the telegraph officers of the period in the easiest way, accompanied by many tables in Latin and Arabic diagrams.
